Biography

Yichao Zhao was born in China and received his B.Sc. degree from Fudan University in 2010. He earned his M.Sc. degree in 2013 and then joined Professor Philip Chan's group at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as a research assistant. In the subsequent year, he followed Professor Chan to Monash University, where he obtained his Ph.D. His research interests focus on gold(I) and silver(I) catalyzed synthetic strategies for N-heterocycle formation and functionalization. Yichao's work contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in enhancing strategies for research in polycystic kidney disease. He has led multiple projects as a chief investigator and has been actively engaged in collaborations across Australia and beyond.
