Biography

Yidan Zhang is a Research Fellow in the Embodied Visualisation research group at Monash University. She received her PhD in spatial-temporal data sensemaking within immersive environments from Monash University. In 2024, Yidan began her postdoctoral position at Monash University, focusing on various aspects of human-computer interaction, immersive analytics, and multidimensional data visualisation. Her research interests encompass key areas such as embodied provenance, immersive data storytelling, and energy visualisation, and she actively supports research aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015. Yidan’s academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Monash University, a Master of Information Technology also from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Jinan University. She has extensive experience in data visualisation and immersive technologies, covering fields such as eye tracking and spatial-temporal statistics. Over the past five years, Yidan has participated in several collaborations across Australia, Oceania, and Europe, gaining insights into service usage and content delivery.
