Biography

Yiguang Ju received his bachelor's degree in Engineering Thermophysics from Tsinghua University in 1986 and his PhD in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering from Tohoku University in 1994. He currently holds the position of Robert Porter Patterson Professor in the Department of Mechanical Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University, where he served as the Director of the DOE Energy Earthshot Research Center (EERC) focused on Hydrogen. Professor Ju's research encompasses various topics including combustion, green fuels, electrified manufacturing, near-limit supercritical combustion, chemical kinetics, plasma chemistry, non-equilibrium manufacturing, hydrogen, ammonia, e-fuels, and energy materials. He has published over 300 refereed journal articles and is a fellow of both the AIAA and ASME, as well as a founding fellow of the Combustion Institute. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Combustion Institute and has chaired sections within the organization, in addition to being an Associate Editor for the AIAA Journal of Combustion Science and Technology. His accolades include four Distinguished Paper Awards from the International Symposium on Combustion, the NASA Director’s Certificate of Appreciation, the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award, the International Prize from the Japanese Combustion Society, and several awards from the AIAA. He is also a co-founder of several companies, including HiTNano Inc, Princeton NuEnergy Inc, Polymer-X Inc, and USPlasma Inc.
