Biography

Yihua Hu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering at King's College London. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a member of the UK Young Academy. Previously, he was the group head of electrical engineering at the University of York, where he was awarded a Royal Society Industry Fellowship and an EPSRC Power Electronics Centre Impact Acceleration Fellowship. Dr. Hu has published 150 journal papers, primarily in IEEE Transactions journals, attaining over 7800 citations and an h-index of 54 as of 2018. He holds 15 patents and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and Scientific Reports. His research interests include renewable power generation, electric vehicles, and smart energy conversion systems, among others. He was a finalist in the Technology Transfer category of the IET Innovation Awards in 2019. In his role as Principal Investigator over the past four years, Dr. Hu has secured £1.5M in research funding. His contributions extend to initiatives aimed at fostering technology transfer and nurturing the next generation of engineers.
