Biography

Yijiao Jiang is an ARC Future Fellow and Professor at Macquarie University, where he co-directs the Macquarie Research Centre Transforming Energy Markets. His research focuses on developing advanced technologies for converting carbon emissions and plastic biowaste into sustainable fuels and valuable materials. He has secured funding from various sources, including the ARC, to lead projects with significant industrial collaboration. Yijiao currently oversees a research group comprising 2 postdocs and 6 HDR scholars. He has received several awards for his contributions to research leadership and education, including the Highly Commended Vice-Chancellor's Jim Piper Award for Excellence in Research Leadership in 2025. Yijiao serves as Chair of the MQ Women in Engineering from 2019 to 2024 and is an Associate Editor for ACS Energy & Fuels and Carbon Capture Science & Technology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the ARC College of Experts.
