Biography

Yimin Yang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University, Canada. He obtained his Ph.D. in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Hunan University, China in 2013. Prior to his current position, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Lakehead University, Canada. His current research interests span across machine learning, pattern recognition, and data analysis, with a primary focus on developing innovative machine learning methodologies. This includes proposing fast learning algorithms and efficient structures for neural networks aimed at enhancing artificial intelligence models applicable in various industries. Dr. Yang is a Senior Member of the IEEE and serves as an Associate Editor for the journals Neurocomputing and IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology.
