Biography

Ying Li is a senior lecturer at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. She specializes in Operations Management and has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, where she also earned her M.S. in Industrial & Operations Engineering. Her research focuses on capacity and inventory management, healthcare operations management, and data modeling decision-making. Li's work has been published in prestigious journals such as Management Science and the European Journal of Operational Research. Prior to her position at Georgia Tech, she taught supply chain management courses at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, and has been actively involved in various projects aimed at cost containment in hospitals, as well as improving food insecurity through partnerships with local food banks. With an emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving, Li engages students through active learning techniques, aiming to create a welcoming classroom environment where student voices are valued. Since January 2024, she has also taken on roles in advising and coordinating the ISyE capstone senior design course, facilitating student learning through feedback and support in developing client-focused solutions.
