Biography

Ying Li is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University and a Pioneer Natural Resources Faculty Fellow III. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida, and earned her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. Additionally, she completed her M.E. and B.E. in Thermal Engineering at Zhejiang University. Professor Li's research focuses on advanced materials and their applications in energy systems. Specifically, she investigates nanomaterials for solar energy conversion, catalysis, and photocatalysis. Her work extends to carbon dioxide capture and utilization, energy storage technologies including rechargeable batteries, and water treatment processes. She has been involved with significant contributions in air pollution control and aerosol science technology as well. Throughout her academic career, she has received numerous accolades, including being named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2022 and receiving the NSF CAREER Award in 2013.
