Dr. Ying Liu

Biography

Ying Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Cornell University. She has contributed significantly to the understanding of cancer genetics and treatment strategies, focusing on ovarian and other gynecological cancers. Her research encompasses a wide range of topics, including the mutational processes in ovarian cancer, genetic ancestry's correlation with somatic differences in clinical cancer sequencing, and the effects of activating mutations on eosinophilia. Liu has published extensively in reputable journals, addressing critical issues like immune evasion mechanisms, the impact of germline testing on clinical outcomes, and the implications of various genetic alterations in cancer treatment. She is a co-investigator who actively collaborates on studies related to cancer patient outcomes, particularly emphasizing the importance of personalized medicine based on genetic profiles. Liu holds degrees in Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina, along with her academic experience at Duke University School of Medicine.
