Biography

Ying Ping Wang is an Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney and has served as a Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO since 2015. With a PhD in plant eco-physiology from the University of Edinburgh completed in 1988, he has had a collaborative relationship with UNSW for over 25 years, resulting in numerous publications and research grants. Wang's research focuses on global land modeling, biogeochemical cycles, nutrient limitation, and model-data fusion in terrestrial ecology. He has been a key scientist in the development of the CSIRO Atmosphere Biosphere Land Exchange (CABLE), which has over 100 registered users across 51 institutions in 13 countries. Wang has published more than 140 papers in major international journals. He also served as an associate editor for Agriculture and Forest Meteorology starting in 2010 and has led teams and been a member of multiple committees at CSIRO since 1997.
