Dr. Ying Wang

Biography

Ying Wang is a lecturer at the USC School of Architecture. She teaches a course on Sustainability Environment, focusing on infrastructures, urban landscapes, and buildings. Her work revolves around developing and enhancing environmental management frameworks that are both practical and measurable, aimed at addressing urban sustainability challenges at various scales including street, neighborhood, district, and municipal levels, particularly in the greater Los Angeles area. The course generates a comprehensive picture of Los Angeles's metabolism, analyzing resource flows and the city's ecological footprint. Through evaluations of the resources utilized and the actions taken, she facilitates discussions on transforming existing infrastructures, landscapes, and buildings to achieve sustainability performance goals established by the city of Los Angeles.
