Ying Zhang received a B.S. degree from Tongji University in Materials Science Engineering. She obtained an M.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Materials Engineering and another M.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Electrical Engineering in 2001 and 2002, respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in Systems Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley in 2006. Dr. Zhang is a Licensed Professional Engineer and currently serves as a Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she is also the Senior Associate Chair, effective August 1, 2021. She is the director of the Sensors Intelligent Systems Laboratory at Georgia Tech. Her research interests focus on systems-level interdisciplinary problems including wireless sensor networks, the Internet of Things, biomedical engineering, and structural health monitoring.
