Biography

Ying Zou is a Professor and Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and cross-appointed to the School of Computing at Queen’s University. He has a distinguished career as a researcher, having served as a visiting scientist at IBM Centers for Advanced Studies (CAS) in Canada. His expertise lies primarily in software engineering, with a focus on software maintenance and evolution, empirical studies, software analytics, and service-oriented computing. Dr. Zou has received notable accolades including the IBM CAS Research Faculty Fellow Award in 2014, and he has won the IBM Faculty Award in both 2007 and 2008, recognizing his significant contributions to the field. His research interests encompass software engineering, software evolution, software analytics, empirical studies, service-oriented computing, and machine learning approaches. Dr. Zou completed his BEng at Beijing Polytechnic University, his Meng at the Chinese Academy of Space Technology, and his PhD at the University of Waterloo. He is also a senior member of IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society.
