Yingxiao Wang obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics from Peking University, Beijing, P.R. China, in 1992 and 1996, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego, Jacobs School of Engineering, in 2002. Following his Ph.D., he continued his postdoctoral work at UC San Diego in collaboration with Professor Shu Chien and Professor Roger Y. Tsien in the Department of Pharmacology. Currently, he serves as the department chair and professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Wang is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, the International Academy of Medical Biological Engineering, and the Biomedical Engineering Society. His research interests focus on cellular and molecular engineering, live cell imaging, and controllable cell-based therapy, particularly in the context of cancer immunotherapy. His lab is supported by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and private foundations. Dr. Wang has been recognized with several awards, including the Wallace H. Coulter Early Career Award and the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, among others.
