Biography

Yini Liu is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the DAN Department of Management and Organizational Studies at Western University. She earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2020, following a Master's degree in Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, both from Fudan University, China. Professor Liu's primary research area is empirical corporate finance, with a focus on private equity offerings, seasoned equity offerings, initial public offerings (IPOs), and entrepreneurial finance. Her scholarly investigations extend into law and finance as well as corporate governance. She has published articles in esteemed journals including Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Financial Research. Dr. Liu is currently the Principal Investigator on a SSHRC grant that explores the intersection of sustainable finance, policy uncertainty, and corporate efficiency. She has been recognized with awards including the Dancap Private Equity Faculty Research Award and the Faculty of Social Science Research Award at Western University. Professor Liu is also actively involved in teaching courses such as Advanced Finance and Selected Topics in Financial Modelling.
