Biography

Yining Huang is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Western University, specializing in inorganic materials. His research focuses primarily on the investigation of porous materials such as zeolites and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Huang's work involves the characterization of these materials using solid-state NMR and vibrational spectroscopy to explore their application in various industries, including catalysis, molecular sieves, ion exchangers, and CO2 capture. He has made significant contributions to the development of techniques for monitoring crystallization processes of molecular sieves in real-time, and his ongoing research aims to improve the understanding of host-guest interactions in porous materials. Huang's diverse educational background includes a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Peking University, a Ph.D. from McGill University, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia, which have equipped him with extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of inorganic chemistry. He has received numerous awards for his mentorship of graduate students and his impactful research, including the Canada Research Chair and several accolades from the Faculty of Science at Western University.
