Dr. Yinyu Ye

Biography

Yinyu Ye is a recipient of the John von Neumann Theory Prize, recognized for his substantial contributions to the fields of Operations Research and Management Sciences. He has been honored with various awards, including the Farkas Prize and the SIAM Optimization Prize for his pioneering work in Continuous and Discrete Optimization, as well as Algorithm Design and Analysis. Ye has spent considerable time at Stanford University, where he is the K.T. Li Professor in the School of Engineering and an Emeritus Faculty member in Management Science and Engineering. His research interests encompass a wide array of topics such as Algorithmic Game Theory, Online Linear Programming, Reinforcement Learning, and Distributionally Robust Optimization. Notably, he has also been involved in consulting for diverse industries and has served on several technical boards. Throughout his academic career, Ye has published numerous influential papers, guided PhD students, and has been an integral voice in the optimization community, often participating as a speaker at international conferences. His educational background includes a PhD from Stanford University in Engineering Economic Systems and Operations Research, an MS from Stanford in Engineering Economic Systems, and a BS from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Systems Control.
