Dr. Yongah Kim

Biography

Yongah Kim is an Associate Professor at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, specializing in Strategic Management. With a focus on Strategic Change Implementation, she emphasizes digital and agile transformations, management consulting, and leadership development. Before joining Rotman, she was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, where she spent around 25 years working across Canada and Asia. Her diverse experiences encompass digital and analytics transformation, global expansion, performance transformation, as well as digital marketing and sales effectiveness across a wide range of industries including finance, healthcare, and heavy industries. She has substantial expertise in digital performance transformations in the financial services sector and has held several leadership positions, including co-chair of McKinsey’s Global Partner Election Committee. Yongah is recognized as a thought leader on business and social issues, with particular interest in finance, healthcare, and female leadership. She has been involved as a key opinion leader in sessions hosted by Korean Prime Ministers and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Korea. She also serves on various advisory committees, including the Korean Ministry of Finance Planning and the Financial Advisory Committee for the Mayor of Seoul City. Additionally, she is the vice chair of the board at the Hospital for Sick Children and is a board member of Equitable Group.
