Biography

Yongchao Su is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy with a focus on Molecular Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery. He has over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in candidate selection, drug delivery, preformulation, formulation, and analytical development of chemical and biological drug products. Su earned his Ph.D. in Structural Biophysics from Iowa State University between 2006 and 2011, followed by postdoctoral training in the Department of Chemistry at MIT from 2011 to 2014. His research aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying drug delivery and stability, guiding the design of modern therapeutics. Su has authored 140 peer-reviewed publications with an H-index of 42 as of April 2025, and he is a co-inventor on multiple patents related to chemical and biological therapeutics, including high-concentration aqueous suspension formulations of pembrolizumab. He currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Boards of Molecular Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Research, and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and as Editor-in-Chief of AAPS Open, a Springer Nature publication.
