Biography

Yosef Alfred Berlow is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. He completed his MD and PhD at Oregon Health & Science University. After finishing his psychiatry residency, Berlow participated in the Research Training Program at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Berlow's research primarily focuses on identifying predictors of response to noninvasive neuromodulation treatments, including transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation. He collaborates closely with the Providence VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Center in Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology. Throughout his academic career, he has received numerous awards acknowledging his significant contributions to the field, including the Chair’s Choice Award from the Society of Biological Psychiatry and the prestigious Laughlin Fellowship from the American College of Psychiatrists. His dedication to research and teaching has made him a valued member of the academic community at Brown University.
