Biography

Yrjö Koskinen is the BMO Professor of Sustainable Transition Finance at the Haskayne School of Business and Director of Research at the Institute for Sustainable Finance at Smith School of Business, Queen's University. He has served as the Associate Dean of Research at Haskayne and has been a faculty member at prestigious institutions including the Stockholm School of Economics, Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. With a solid academic background, he holds a PhD in Management (Finance) from INSEAD and an MSc in Economics from the University of Helsinki. Yrjö has prior experience as a financial journalist and asset manager economist at the Bank of Finland. He currently chairs the steering committee of the Canadian Sustainable Finance Network and is a fellow at the Nordic Initiative for Corporate Economics and a research member of the European Corporate Governance Institute. His main research areas include sustainable climate finance, corporate finance, and governance, with publications in leading finance and management journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies. He has received numerous awards, including the Standard Life Investments Finance Prize and the Dean's Research Scholar recognition at Haskayne.
