Biography

Ysabel Ilagan-Ying is a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Yale School of Medicine. Her research interests include obesity medicine, specifically looking at metabolic dysfunction associated with steatotic liver disease, quality improvement within healthcare practices, and medical education. She completed her medical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2023, having earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Yale School of Medicine in 2020. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University in 2014. As a scholar and resident, she is committed to improving patient outcomes and embodies the mission of providing compassionate care. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys creating medical illustrations, baking, and exploring the culinary delights of Connecticut with her husband and their dog, Ollie.
