Biography

Yu-Cheng Chang is an Associate Professor of Clinical Periodontics at Penn Dental Medicine, serving as the Assistant Dean for Emerging Technology and the Patient Care Director of the Periodontics Clinic. He is also the Co-Director of Predoctoral Periodontics. Dr. Chang received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Chun Shan Medical University in Taiwan in 2008 and went on to earn a certificate in Periodontology and a Master's degree in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In addition to his educational qualifications, he holds a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has a strong focus on research, regularly publishing in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. His teaching excellence has been recognized with numerous awards such as the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Periodontics Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, among others.
