Dr. Yuan Shang

Biography

Mr. Yuan Shang is a dedicated researcher specializing in the practical development of aqueous Zn-ion batteries. Throughout his PhD journey, he has relentlessly pushed the boundaries of Zn metal anodes in aqueous Zn-ion batteries, with a primary focus on ensuring long-term stability and optimal performance. His commitment to advancing the field is reflected in his impressive track record, having authored five research papers as the lead author in renowned journals such as Joule, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Energy Storage Materials. In 2020, he contributed significantly to academic literature, underscoring his efforts to transition research from laboratory settings to real-world applications and accelerate the adoption of aqueous batteries in the energy storage realm. Mr. Shang's academic background includes a master's degree focused on the semiconductor industry, specifically in areas related to solar panels. He has gained practical experience in the semiconductor industries, including the manufacturing of photovoltaic panels and infrared detectors. His comprehensive coursework at UNSW was awarded with excellent graduation honors. Furthermore, he has worked on a research project involving lithium-ion batteries, developing amorphous transition metal anodes.
