Biography

Yuan Yao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University. He obtained his B.S. degree in Micro-electronics from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, in 2009, and his M.S. degree in System-on-Chip Design from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2014. He completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at KTH from 2015 to 2019. His research interests are focused on computer architecture design, power thermal control in chip multi-/many-processors (CMPs), Network-on-Chips (NoCs), and GPGPUs. He works on coherency and consistency provisioning, emerging memory techniques, hardware/software co-design, high-performance parallel computing architectures, and performance analysis of on-chip networking and memory systems. His contributions have been recognized in various high-profile publications in the field.
