Dr. Yuanmo He

Biography

Yuanmo He is a Fellow at the London School of Economics' Department of Methodology, specializing in advanced quantitative methods. He obtained his PhD in Social Research Methods from LSE, after earning an MSc in Applied Social Data Science and a BSc in Social Sciences from University College London. His doctoral thesis utilizes large-scale digital trace data and advanced computational techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing, to examine how daily behaviors and social interactions reflect and reinforce socioeconomic inequality. Yuanmo's current research focuses on exploring class distinctions manifested in the language of large language models, as well as publishing findings stemming from his PhD work. In addition to his academic pursuits, Yuanmo is a stand-up comedian and engages in blogging in both English and Chinese. He emphasizes the intersection of AI, data science, and social scientific inquiry in his work.
