Biography

Yuanzhu Chen is a Professor in the School of Computing at Queen's University. He joined the faculty in 2021 after previously serving as a Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2005. During his tenure at Memorial, he held the roles of Department Head from 2019 to 2021, Deputy Head for Undergraduate Studies from 2012 to 2015, and Deputy Head for Graduate Studies from 2016 to 2019. He received his Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University in 2004 and a B.Sc. from Peking University in 1999. Prior to that, he was a post-doctoral researcher at Simon Fraser University from 2004 to 2005. His research interests cover various fields including computer networking, mobile computing, complex networks, graph theory, web information retrieval, and evolutionary computation. He is also a recipient of the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching at Memorial University.
