Dr. Yuchen Xie

Biography

Yuchen Xie is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the Social Policy Research Centre. With a multidisciplinary background in public health and psychology, Yuchen’s research focuses on the complexities faced by individuals navigating aged care services from a consumer perspective. Yuchen's work aims to reduce stigma experienced by individuals living with infectious diseases and enhance access to healthcare screening and engagement. With a keen interest in the impacts of various stigmas, ageism, and health on well-being, Yuchen's PhD research contributed significantly to high-impact publications, including articles in prestigious journals like the Gerontologist and Lancet Digital Health. Yuchen has received several awards for their research, including the Runner-Up Publication Prize from the Australian Association of Gerontology and a Poster Award from the Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research. Yuchen’s experience includes working on health policy projects and health services research in the United States and Singapore, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods to address complex healthcare issues, specifically regarding equitable access to health and aged care services for vulnerable communities, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
