Biography

Yue Chen is a Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. He holds a medical degree and a PhD in Epidemiology from Shanghai Medical University. Dr. Chen completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Western Ontario and University of Saskatchewan, where he worked for six years as both an Assistant and Associate Professor. He has been granted the National Health Research Scholar Award by the National Health Research Development Program and served as a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Investigator. His research interests focus on chronic disease epidemiology, particularly in the areas of cardio-respiratory diseases, cancer, and diabetes, with a particular emphasis on the environmental, genetic, and social determinants of chronic lung diseases such as asthma and COPD. Additionally, Dr. Chen is involved in research related to infectious disease epidemiology.
