Biography

Yue Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography & Geographic Information Science at Illinois University. His research interests lie primarily in Geographic Information Science, CyberGIS, and Geospatial Data Science. He is particularly focused on the social implications of geospatial technologies and the integration of AI into geographic applications. Yue obtained his Ph.D. in Geography from Ohio State University in 2023, where he also earned his M.A. in 2022. He completed his B.S. in Geographic Information Science at Wuhan University in 2019. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Yue is a faculty affiliate at both the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and the Center for Social & Behavioral Science. He teaches advanced courses on Geospatial Artificial Intelligence and Geographic Information Science Systems, equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate and analyze spatial data.
