Dr. Yuekang Sun

Biography

Yuekang (Jerry) Sun is a Professor of Accounting at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 2007. He also holds two Master's degrees in Accounting, one from the University of Waterloo, Canada (2004) and another from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1999). Additionally, he has a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Donghua University, China (1988), and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Fudan University, China (1985). His research interests include Capital Marketing, Accounting Research, Corporate Governance, International Accounting Research, Financial Reporting Quality, and Auditing. Over the years, he has published several significant papers in reputed journals, focusing on the impacts of various factors on financial reporting and auditing. His work examines issues such as audit quality in the context of SEC administrative proceedings for Chinese auditors and the effects of institutional environments on auditor reporting, amongst other topics. He is recognized for his contributions to the field and continues to engage in impactful research.
