Biography

Yuguang Cai is an Instructional Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University. He has been teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2006, focusing on areas of physical and analytical chemistry. His range of course offerings includes Thermodynamics, Kinetics, Statistical Thermodynamics, Physical Chemistry for Engineers, Quantum Chemistry and Spectroscopy, Physical Chemistry Laboratory, Surface Chemistry Analysis, Instrumental Analysis, and Quantitative Analysis Laboratory. Currently, he teaches Physical Chemistry (CHEM-328) and Quantitative Analysis Laboratory (CHEM-318). His research interests primarily focus on the liquid-solid interface, where he investigates the structure, function, and assembly of molecules at interfaces, as well as the spreading, wetting, and adhesion of liquids on surfaces at the nanoscale. Yuguang received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University in 2003 and has held postdoctoral positions at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Additionally, he has experience as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky and served as a Visiting Scholar and Senior Academic Coordinator within the same institution.
