Dr. Yuhan Wang

Biography

Yuhan Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University, where her research focuses on the intricate brain-body interactions that govern metabolic regulation, particularly in the context of obesity and diabetes. She utilizes a combination of molecular and functional approaches with animal models to elucidate the neural circuits involved in metabolic regulation and how these processes become dysregulated in disease states. Yuhan obtained her Ph.D. from Oregon Health & Science University, concentrating on the development of gene and cell therapies for diabetes. Following her doctoral studies, she completed her postdoctoral training at Janelia Research Campus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where she advanced spatial molecular techniques to map molecularly defined neuronal types in the mouse brain and investigate their functional roles in behavior. Yuhan has contributed to several notable publications in high-impact journals, emphasizing her expertise in molecular nutrition and diabetes research.
