Dr. Yuhong Fan

Biography

Yuhong Fan is an Associate Professor and a Georgia Research Alliance Distinguished Scholar in the School of Biological Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Fan's research interests lie in the field of Epigenetics, focusing on how epigenetic mechanisms regulate gene expression and cell differentiation. Her work addresses the dysregulation of these mechanisms and their implications in human diseases, particularly cancer. She is especially interested in H1 linker histones and their roles in chromatin compaction and remodeling during development and stem cell biology. Through her research, she aims to uncover the intricate interplay between epigenetic regulation and signaling pathways, ultimately striving to identify novel therapeutic strategies for regenerative medicine and cancer treatment. Dr. Fan employs a variety of molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches, complemented by bioinformatics techniques, to explore these complexities.
