Biography

Yujing Liu is a Full Professor in Electric Power Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. He has been with ABB Corporate Research for 17 years, where he held the position of Senior Principal Scientist before joining Chalmers. Liu became a full professor in 2013, focusing on applications of electrical machines and power electronics for sustainable electrical systems. He leads a research team dedicated to developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for renewable energy conversion and transportation electrification. His ongoing research includes high-sustainability electrical machines, SiC inverters, motor emulator control, drive systems for vehicle applications, electrification of heavy-duty off-road equipment, and inductive power transfer. Liu is the project leader for four EU Horizon 2020 projects and two EU Marie Curie projects. He teaches courses such as "Electrical Machines: Design Analysis" for 80 master's students and also supervises PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. In 2018, he was appointed as Head of the Electric Machines Power Electronics unit at the Department of Electrical Engineering.
