Yuk Hui is a Professor of Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he holds the Chair in Human Conditions and directs the Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Technology. He studied computer engineering at the University of Hong Kong and completed his PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London, focusing on the work of Bernard Stiegler. Hui also obtained his Habilitation in Philosophy from Leuphana University Lüneburg. He is the author of several influential monographs that have been translated into more than a dozen languages, including 'Existence of Digital Objects' (University of Minnesota Press, 2016), 'Questioning Technology in China: An Essay on Cosmotechnics' (Urbanomic, 2016), 'Recursivity and Contingency' (Rowman & Littlefield, 2019), and 'Art and Cosmotechnics' (University of Minnesota Press/e-flux, 2021). His forthcoming titles include 'Post-Europe' and 'Machine Sovereignty'. Hui has also been a co-editor of significant works such as '30 Years Les Immatériaux: Art, Science and Theory' and has contributed as an editor to various philosophical journals. Moreover, he is an active member of the Research Network for Philosophy and Technology and has served as a juror for the Berggruen Prize in Philosophy and Culture.
