Biography

Professor Yun Bai joined University College London as a Senior Lecturer in Materials in February 2012 and was promoted to Reader in Materials in October 2014. He became a Professor of Construction Materials in October 2018. Before his tenure at UCL, he worked as a Civil Engineer at the Ningxia Transport Department in China from 1993 to 2000. He also served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Immobilisation Science Laboratory at Sheffield University from 2004 to 2007 and as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Queen's University Belfast from 2007 to 2011. He is an elected Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Institute of Concrete Technology (FICT), as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM). His academic qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching from Queen’s University Belfast in 2011, a Ph.D. from Queen’s University Belfast in 2004, an MSc in Computing Information Systems from the University of Ulster in 2004, and a BEng in Building Material Science Engineering from Chongqing University in 1993.
