Biography

Yunlin Xu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, obtained in 2004. Xu’s research focuses on various aspects of nuclear reactor simulations, including simulation method studies, code development, and multi-physics coupling. His work also encompasses nuclear reactor safety analysis, design optimization, and fuel cycle studies. Xu has been active in the American Nuclear Society and has consistently contributed to advancements in methodologies for solving large scale linear and nonlinear systems. He earned his M.S. in Computer Science and two M.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering, one from Purdue University in 2006 and another from Tsinghua University in 1991. His foundational education includes a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Tsinghua University, completed in 1990. Xu’s contributions to the field aim to enhance the safety and efficiency of nuclear energy systems.
