Biography

Yunlong Zhao is an Associate Professor at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London, and leads the Electrochemical Bioelectronic Interface Group. He holds a joint appointment as a Senior Scientist at the UK National Physical Laboratory (NPL). Yunlong conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, focusing on bioelectronic materials and devices, as well as nano-bio interfaces. He received his undergraduate and postgraduate training at Wuhan University of Technology, with a focus on electrochemical energy storage and electrochemical probing. Yunlong's work aims to address challenges in complex electrochemical biomedical systems by designing engineering devices for simulating and monitoring physiological processes. He has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with a total citation of 13,000. His research has received recognition in academia and media, leading to awards such as the Second-Class Prize State Natural Science Award and Top 5 finalist for the USERN prize.
