Biography

Yuqi Gu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and a Clinician Investigator at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. With a focus on simulation-based medical education, Yuqi's research interests include the use of extended reality technology and 3D printing in medical training, as well as ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. He completed his MD at the University of Saskatchewan in 2011 and gained specialty certification in Anesthesiology from Dalhousie University in 2016. Prior to his current role, Yuqi served as Fellowship Director in Simulation Medical Education at the University of Ottawa. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with several awards, including the University of Ottawa QI and Patient Safety Award in 2022, and the Dr. Jean Hugill Research Award in 2021. Yuqi is dedicated to advancing medical education and improving patient outcomes through innovative approaches and effective knowledge translation.
