Yuqing Jiao is an Associate Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), specializing in the field of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and manufacturing technologies. His current research focuses on advanced nanophotonic PICs, with particular emphasis on key enabling technologies for manufacturable nanophotonics. He studies ultrafast optoelectronic sciences and investigates strong light-matter interactions in highly confined nanostructures. His work spans unique application opportunities, including optical interconnects, terahertz photonics, and optical beam steering sensing. Jiao’s research interests also encompass novel materials for photonics and the development of photonic/electronic co-integration processes. With a dual PhD from TU/e and Zhejiang University China obtained in 2013, he has continued his research at TU/e, where he has worked as an Assistant Professor since 2016. Jiao has a robust background in silicon/silica and InP material systems, accompanied by over 10 years of research experience in semiconductor cleanroom laboratories. He serves as a board member for the IEEE Photonics Society Benelux Chapter and actively reviews for numerous international journals, having co-authored more than 30 papers in refereed journals and over 60 conference papers, including several invited talks.
