Dr. Yuriy Alekseyev

Biography

Yuriy O. Alekseyev, PhD, serves as Director of the Microarray Core Resource Facility at Boston University, where he has been instrumental since 2007. His research focuses on the study of transcriptional networks influenced by carcinogenic agents, particularly Aflatoxin B1, and their interactions with chemoprevention agents. Yuriy obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Wayne State University, conducting research on DNA replication mechanisms and mutagenesis. His earlier education includes a Master’s in Biotechnology from Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technologies. Prior to his tenure at BU, he worked at the Moscow State Scientific Center studying plant toxins and contributed to developing immunotoxins for cancer therapy. In addition to his lab work, he is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at Boston University Medical Campus, ensuring an equitable environment for faculty and students. He is also involved in mentoring graduate students and has an active presence in the academic community through collaborations and research publications.
