Biography

Yuriy Drobyshevski is a naval architect and independent consultant with over 30 years of experience in the offshore and shipping industries. He graduated from the Institute of Maritime Engineers in Odessa in 1986 and obtained his PhD after nine years of work as a salvage consulting engineer. Yuriy has been deeply involved in ship emergency response since 1996 and worked as a technical director for a shipping company in Ukraine. In 2001, he transitioned to the Australian offshore industry, where he spent 13 years with INTECSEA/Worley focusing on floating systems. Since 2018, he has worked as an independent consultant for NavTec Pty Ltd, excelling in the design and analysis of floating installations, mooring systems, and marine operations. Yuriy has acted as lead engineer, engineering manager, study manager, and technical advisor on multiple projects, contributing to the development of response-based analysis methods. Additionally, he has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Australian Maritime College, supervising PhD candidates and authoring numerous publications.
