Dr. Yuriy Zabolotnyuk

Biography

Yuriy Zabolotnyuk is an Associate Professor at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, where he serves as the Academic Director of the Master of Finance Program. He holds a PhD in Finance from Simon Fraser University, an MA in Economics from the Kyiv School of Economics, and an MSc in Management from Taras Shevchenko National University, Ukraine. He has earned professional designations as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM). Yuriy has taught a variety of finance courses at both undergraduate and MBA levels, including Corporate Finance, Investments, Fixed Income Analysis, Financial Analytics, Derivatives, and Business Statistics. He has significant international teaching experience, having lectured in countries including Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, and Iran. Yuriy is an active researcher, with publications in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Financial Management and the Journal of Corporate Finance. His research is widely presented at conferences including the Financial Management Association and the Northern Finance Association. He is also engaged with the CFA Society Ottawa, linking local universities with the financial industry.
