Yusuke Hamada is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Periodontics Postgraduate Program at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He earned his D.D.S. from Kyushu Dental University in Japan, where he also completed a periodontal residency program and received his M.S.D. certificate in Periodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Hamada has served as a clinical assistant professor at Indiana University, directing the Advanced Education Graduate Periodontics program. He has received multiple accolades, including the AAP Award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics in 2017 and the AAP Foundation Nevins Teaching and Clinical Research Fellowship in 2019. His research interests focus on digital technology in periodontics, implant dentistry, and soft and hard tissue regeneration, as well as the etiology and treatment of peri-implantitis. Dr. Hamada is passionate about mentoring graduate students on their thesis projects and enjoys conducting basic clinical research in these areas.
