Biography

Yuting Wei is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley, awarded in 2018, where he was advised by Martin Wainwright and Aditya Guntuboyina. He also holds a B.S. in Statistics and a B.A. in Economics, both from Peking University, received in 2013. Prior to his current position, he served as an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University from 2019 to 2021 and as a Stein's Fellow/Lecturer in the Statistics Department at Stanford University from 2018 to 2019. His research interests include high-dimensional nonparametric statistics, statistical inference, reinforcement learning, and statistical genetics. Wei has published numerous articles in respected journals, contributing to the fields of Statistics and Machine Learning.
