Biography

Yutong Cai obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation from the National University of Singapore in 2022. His research interests are centered around optimization and decision science, operations management, machine learning and artificial intelligence, transportation and aviation, as well as supply chain and service operations. His work has been published in prestigious transportation engineering journals such as Transportation Research Parts C/D/E, Applied Energy, and others. He has contributed to multiple flagship projects funded by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singapore, as well as the Singapore Maritime Institute. Additionally, he has completed a Master’s degree in Transportation Systems & Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Shipping Management. In recent years, his research has focused on sustainable and active mobility, maritime risk assessment, and the application of machine learning techniques for improved transportation systems.
