Yves Perriard was born in Lausanne in 1965. He received his M.Sc. in Microengineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 1989 and completed his Ph.D. in 1992. He has played a vital role in the field of electroactive polymers and actuators, with numerous awards to his name, including honors from IEEE for his outstanding contributions in the field.
