Biography

Yvonne Delhey is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University, specializing in German Literature and Culture. She obtained her PhD from the University of Amsterdam in 2002 with a thesis on Reform Socialism Literature in East Germany. Her research interests include East German literature, particularly the literary and filmic works of Helga Schütz. Delhey focuses on the context of modern German culture, autobiographical and autofictive texts, and explores how cultural practices reflect individual and collective identities within contemporary historical discourses. She also investigates the phenomenon of persiflage concerning historical figures, notably Adolf Hitler, through various media narratives. In addition to her research, Delhey has teaching expertise in German as a Foreign Language and intercultural learning, contributing to proven projects and serving as a programme coordinator in an international European context. Her current work addresses the perception and construction of otherness, particularly in relation to migrant narratives and the experiences of escape and displacement due to migration. Delhey actively participates in academic discussions and has presented her work at various congresses, including the upcoming XV. IVG-Congress 2025 in Graz.
