Biography

Zafer Kanik joined Adam Smith Business School as a Lecturer in Economics in September 2020. Before joining the University of Glasgow, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Zafer holds a PhD in Economics from Boston College. His research focuses on economic financial networks and analyzes the macroeconomic impacts of automation, systemic risk, and financial stability, particularly regarding banking regulations. He is especially interested in the risks and regulations associated with the reorganization of networked markets.
